Box Office: 'The Hobbit' hurt by bad weather but still manages $73 million

"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" fell about $10 million short of the first installment's opening weekend gross thanks partially to some bad weather on the East Coast, but the Peter Jackson fantasy still managed a robust $73.7 million at the weekend box office.
